Vittu: Mazahua Tribal Fashion Venture Project (Toluca Campus)

This project is focused on the creation of a community owned and operated fair trade fashion brand venture in Mexico for the Mazahua tribe of La Joya community. This fair trade fashion brand venture called Vittu™ functions as a social enterprise to help alleviate Mazahua poverty as well as to positively impact Mazahua society in terms of Mazahua language and culture preservation. The collaborative partners are Monterrey Tech's Toluca Campus Faculty and students, ASU faculty and students (Globalresolve™ and The Design School), and a private fashion design consultant. The initial stakeholders from the Mazahua tribe are 8-9 women who have shown interest in the program and are in contact with the team at Monterrey Tech.
