The Mexico Teacher Professional Development
This program engaged English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teachers (grades 10-12) from all Mexico in a transformative process of professional development. A first cohort of 194 participants spent six weeks in a technology-rich, academic, immersive English environment at Arizona State University. Participants worked with leading education experts to master advanced teaching methodologies, explored the latest in technology-infused classrooms, identifed sustainable strategies for reform, and discussed techniques for supporting a self-initiated, self-directed culture of excellence in Mexico’s public education system. Resonating through the experience was an awareness of interdisciplinary approaches, a respect for inclusive and culturally relevant pedagogies, and an emphasis on personal reflection as a tool for professional growth.
The second cohort was of 150 participants.
