The Era of Active Learning (University of Guadalajara)

ASU delivered the second cohort of the  “The Era of Active Learning” course, to Universidad de Guadalajara. UdeG’s Coordinación General Académica y de Innovación arranged for the course to be delivered to 1,200 professors from 18 different campuses throughout the State of Jalisco. The first session included 3,200 UdeG professors. Dr. Rangel Sostmann launched the course to help familiarize Mexican university and high school teachers with digital learning technology and modern teaching techniques such as active learning. The course provides educators with tools, concepts and use of technology to develop more engaging learning systems and active adaptive concepts to switch the role of students to become active agents for their own learning. As a final project, course participants have to design a course using the flipped classroom learning concept. This course is part of ASU’s University Design Institute offer to Latin American partners, designed to support universities in their advancement goals to adapt and address education challenges and improve learning outcomes.
