
Delegation of Mexican Technological Universities- Launch of English for Semiconductor Industry
On April 25 at 1:30 PM MST, Arizona State University, through ASU Mexico Relations and in collaboration with Universidad Tecnológica Paso del Norte, proudly hosted the official launch of the English for the Semiconductor Industry course at the ASU Fulton Center. This important initiative aims to enhance workforce development and bilingual education in the rapidly growing semiconductor sector.
The event was honored by the participation of key leaders from Mexico, including Marlenne Mendoza, Director General of the Directorate General of Technological and Polytechnic Universities, and Francisco Hugo Gutiérrez Dávila, Secretary of Education and Sport for the State of Chihuahua. In addition, three subsecretaries — Manuel Guillermo Márquez Lizalde, Federico Acevedo Muñoz, and Rodolfo Basurto Álvarez — representing the states of Chihuahua and Sonora, were in attendance, alongside state officials Jaime Luciano Fernández Chávez and Francisco Rangel Cáceres.
Highlighting the strong partnership between the two nations, ASU welcomed the presence of 11 rectors from leading Mexican institutions of higher education. Special recognition was given to Ulises Martínez Contreras, Rector of Universidad Tecnológica Paso del Norte, for his instrumental role in organizing the visit.
This launch marks a significant step forward in strengthening binational collaboration, expanding educational access, and preparing the next generation of talent for the future of semiconductor innovation.
