Barrett, The Honors College visits UAG for the first time

For the first time, the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara (UAG) welcomed five students and their professor Ana Murphy, from Barrett, The Honors College, at Arizona State University (ASU).

This visit was part of the Global Resolve program, an academic initiative aimed at fostering leadership and social impact on a global scale.

Academic collaboration with social impact

During their stay, the students participated in various activities designed to strengthen academic and cultural ties between both institutions. At UAG, they engaged in a simulation activity at the Institute of Biological Sciences (ICB), where they applied their knowledge in a practical setting.

Additionally, they took part in the "InnovAction: ASU-UAG Social Impact Exchange" bootcamp, where they interacted with experts in social entrepreneurship to learn how to develop innovative initiatives that positively impact their surroundings. This experience allowed them to work with UAG students to promote binational perspectives on common issues such as health and food security.

The bootcamp featured experts in entrepreneurship, including Paulina Marín, Cynthia Gómez, Álvaro Quiroz, and Efraín Flores, who are specialists in areas like entrepreneurship, technology, business, social impact, and data science.

As part of their community commitment, they also visited the Guadalajara Food Bank, where they learned about initiatives supporting vulnerable populations.

They later traveled to Ciudad Guzmán to collaborate with EIRA A.C., an organization focused on women's health.
