Enhancing Biosafety and Biosecurity Across International Borders

The ASU/AmexBio initiative is a collaboration between the ASU Biosafety and Biosecurity Program and the Mexican Biosafety Association (AmexBio). This partnership seeks to strengthen biosafety and biosecurity initiatives across the US and Mexico border, by providing a platform to share best practices, training initiatives, research collaborations and up-to-date information on emerging biological technologies. The ASU Biosafety and Biosecurity Program is committed to helping AmexBio enhance biosafety and biosecurity programs across Mexico and help develop a compliance infrastructure to address these emerging technologies such as genome editing technologies (e.g., CRISPR/Cas 9, zinc fingers, TALENs), synthetic biology and  gene drives. AmexBio offers a valuable platform to present most recent information on the challenges facing biosafety professionals in Mexico. AmexBio offers a valuable platform to present ASU programs and opportunities and attract Mexican students and collaborators.
